English as a Second Language (ESL)

La Escuelita has a well-established curriculum of English language courses, constructed around the goal of offering classes that are accessible to everyone with a commitment to long-term improvement. We have achieved this through several strategies; inviting local businesses to subsidize their workers, taking students on a work-exchange basis, charging on a sliding scale, seeking private sponsors, inviting those who would otherwise have no means to participate and offering donation only courses. The curriculum has been developed to provide language-based courses that focus on students' individual needs, whether based on scholastic goals or employment needs. Visiting English native speakers are often invited to participate in the courses to provide the students with a chance to practise their skills.

The following classes are offered:

  • 4-6 years olds
  • 7-8 years old
  • 9-13 years old
  • 14-18 years old
  • Adult classes (beginner and intermediate)

We also offer private ESL classes to help subsidize our programs.
